During the Annual General Meeting and the Special General Meeting, which took place on February 10th, the ARA Board of Directors received a clear mandate from the Alstonvale residents to maintain the Association and ensure that the Charter is respected.
Last month, Mr. Simon Roy and his spouse, Guiying Zhang located at 38 Vipond, decided to formally take legal actions against the ARA Board of Directors for refusing to approve the construction of a garage on their property.
The plans for the garage did not comply with the Charter and had been rejected by the Architecture Committee in May 2015 and again in November 2017.
This legal matter is now before the courts and the Association is well represented by lawyers from Clyde & Co, selected by our insurance firm. Under our lawyer’s advice, the Board cannot comment further on these proceedings at this time.
A golf tournament will be organised for the ARA members in June, before people start leaving on summer vacations. More details for the event will be announced over the coming months.
On September 16th, the ARA held its annual corn roast at the Alstonvale entrance. As you can see on the photo, we had great weather and the participants had the opportunity to get to know the people who live in the community.
On June 17, ARA held its annual picnic/BBQ for all residents.
The Alstonvale Spring Clean-Up Day took place on Saturday, April 29th. 10 people participated from the neighborhood and we collected 10 bags of trash. Alstonvale is clean and ready for the great upcoming summer season.
